To get to the palace you’ll need to find your way through the forest.  Fortunately, the dark-coloured trees show you the path to take.  (In the picture, the brown trees show the path going from the bottom of the screen off to the right.)

From the bridge, go UP into the forest.  Then RIGHT, RIGHT, UP, LEFT and RIGHT to reach the palace.
